Saturday morning I came upstairs and found my two dogs sun bathing, it was too cute!

We worked really hard on Sunday to teach Chevy how to lay. Puck started to get jealous so we had to teach her a new trick aswell.

Marine Poem.

As you all know Blake is still at Boot Camp training away to be a U.S. Marine. We are all missing him like crazy! It is so fun to hear all the letters that Blake has sent everyone. We have been talking about setting him up a Blog of his own so we can post all the letters and comments for everyone to read while he is away. In the meantime I thought that I would share a poem that I sent him. Enjoy!

My Brother “the Marine”

I see strength, I see courage, in this future marine.
As his sister I will wait offering a shoulder to lean.

Training hard, up at dusk and down at dawn
He's becoming a man building brains and gaining brawn

You making Squad Leader has made me so proud.
With courage and ambition you have been endowed.

He will always love home, but must put those thoughts behind.
For a new life as a soldier he has set out to find.

I selfishly wish this war would just end.
They can't send him away; he's my Brother, my friend.

So train him for now and teach him well,
Give him life experience and good stories to tell.

I know he has set out to do something great,
The life of a soldier is set in his fate.

This is what he wants and he should stand proud.
Fight for it brother, fight hard and loud!

A great man you will become, showing courage and strength.
Giving your life, no matter the length.

Although training's only three months, I miss you so dear.
The thought of you gone even longer fills me with fear.

Can't wait for you to finish and put down your canteen
At your graduation, I will stand to meet my brother,
"The Marine"

Love you Blake!!

Camping in Manti

One of our favorite things to do in the Summer is Cmaping in Manti Canyon with Joey's sister and her family. This year Joey has been working Saturday's with his new job and we really haven't been able to go as much as we would like. We were able to make it up there for Labor Day Weekend. It was so much fun! Manti does a yearly event that weekend where everyone goes up the Canyon for a pig fry. Who would have thought that cooking a pig in the ground would bring everyone and their dog up the canyon (and they all have dogs). We had a blast parting with everyone! We were really worried about the weather going up because the forcast called for monsoon rains, however we had great weather all except for the last night. We are so glad that we made it up at least once before Fall.

End of Summer!

I was so sad to see the weather changing so fast. The Summer always flies by for me but this year we have had so much going on that I feel robed of the Summer months. We decided with all of the rain that we have had and the cold moving in that we would take down the pool in our beckyard. It was the perfect day to do it because it was still warm enough that we could get wet and not freeze like we had done the year prior. As sad as it was to take it down in preperation for Fall, we had some doing it. Chevy and Puck palyed in the water for one last time and Chevy even took a little swim. It was so cute to see him kicking away in the water. The two of them ran around wet and muddy, it was hilarous to watch.

When we took down the pool I noticed a little black spider heading tawards my hand. Joey wanted to catch it in a jar, it was then that we found out that it was a BLACK WIDOW!!! We were all playing in the water all day. Scary!
